UK mammals

Since 2001 we have devoted much of our attention to the conservation needs of UK mammals. We have a special fund within People’s Trust for Endangered Species was previously known as Mammals Trust UK, which has allowed us to concentrate our efforts into reversing the decline of many of our well loved mammals.

The situation for some mammals in the UK is critical. For those such as the water vole and red squirrel, time is running out. Unless immediate action is taken, extinction is not a matter of if, but when.

Through ‘People’s Trust for Endangered Species|mammals’ we focus on specific problems and work to preserve our mammals in their natural habitats. We believe that successful conservation is based on sound scientific evidence and advice with practical outcomes.

We welcome grant applications from voluntary conservation organisations, scientific researchers and individuals working towards the conservation of mammals in the British Isles and Eire. We also offer internship awards to assist the next generation of mammal conservationists and researchers based in the UK.
