focus UK mammals

Since 2001 we have devoted much of our attention to the conservation needs of UK mammals. We have a special fund within the People’s Trust for Endangered Species, previously widely known as Mammals Trust UK, which has allowed us to inject concentrated effort into reversing the decline of many of our well loved mammals species.

The situation for some mammals in the UK is critical. For some, like water voles and red squirrels, time is running out. Unless immediate action is taken, extinction is not a matter of if, but when.

Through ‘People’s Trust for Endangered Species|mammals’ we focus on specific problems and work to preserve our mammals in their natural habitats. We believe that successful conservation is based on sound scientific evidence and advice with practical outcomes.

We welcome grant applications from voluntary conservation organisations, scientific researchers, individuals and consortia for financial support for work that relates to the conservation of mammals in the British Isles and Eire. We also offer internship awards to assist the next generation of mammal conservationists and researchers based in the UK.
