Your Gift of Nature will allow seahorse families to thrive (under the watchful eye of dad!).

The Danajon Bank of Central Philippines is one of the only double barrier reefs in the world and home to the tiger tail seahorse. These seahorses are found in pairs on and around the coral reefs and it is the males that carry the eggs and give birth to young. They're known mostly to change colour and swim in pairs holding tails. This species, like many others, is threatened with extinction due to over fishing and habitat destruction.

Project Seahorse is working with local lantern fishermen to better understand the history and spatial dynamics of seahorse fishing. Data is collected through interviews and follow up advice is given to help the fisheries continue to earn a living but use less damaging techniques. This will help to promote sustainable fishing to conserve and restore tiger tail seahorse populations.
