volunteers needed!
Creating our orchard inventory is largely dependent on a network of local volunteers coordinated by our Orchard Project Officer. We are working with local orchard groups, wildlife trusts, parish councils and agricultural colleges to promote the value of traditional orchards and to carry out the habitat surveys.
The project is carefully managed to bring together and build on, but not duplicate, the work of local and national BAP groups working on either the noble chafer beetle or traditional orchards.
If you would like to volunteer some time to help survey your local orchards, please contact us and a survey instruction pack will be sent to you. The pack provides survey instructions together with a map of orchard sites in your local area.
Currently recruiting volunteers in Avon, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cumbria, Devon, East Sussex, Gloucestershire, Kent, Lancashire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Worcestershire and Herefordshire!
