Mammals are classified in nine groups (called orders). They are:
- artiodactyls (deer)
- carnivores (foxes, wildcats and mustelids)
- cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises)
- chiroptera (bats)
- insectivores (hedgehogs, moles, and shrews)
- lagomorphs (rabbits and hares)
- marsupials (wallabies and kangaroos)
- pinnipeds (seals)
- rodents (mice, rats and voles)
